Program Coordinator (Part-Time)

Summary
Responsible for the planning, implementation of the GBPS Alcohol and Substance Abuse awareness program, and administration of the educational strategy to assist GBPS's Coalition strategies to meet its mission.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement established action plan with GBPS based on agreed upon coalition priorities, timelines and projected results

  • Identify, assign, orient/train volunteers and coalition resources to Demonstration Project goals, strategies, outcomes and deliverables

  • Maintains regular communications with Coalition, volunteers, and community stakeholders s participating in this project

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with the general public and diverse audiences

  • Ability to structure and deliver and coordinate effective non-formal awareness workshops, to address youth abuse of alcohol and marijuana use

  • Ability to independently organize and prioritize work

  • Ability to compile and organize records and/or reports

  • Must be dependable and must maintain flexible work hours as needed and assigned.

  • Monitors coalition progress in achieving outputs, products, deliverables

  • Develops program and fiscal reports to reflect point-in-time status of project activities

  • Works to support coalition to monitor progress on Action Plan

  • Monitor involvement of youth, parents, and community stakeholders to promote message of the
    coalition.

  • Valid Illinois driver's license, and/or knowledgeable about relative project Chicago Transit Routes

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Social Service, background in community organizing, or related field required.
